American Dream Bridal Collection - The Bridesmaid

A special day, calls for special hair and the American dream is to have upswept, carefully arranged curls, cascading down and framing a look as pretty as a picture.

However, the reality of the current trend for short, sleek bobs, means that many women believe the dream of long flowing locks is unobtainable. The magic of hair clip wefts is set to change that and bring beautiful styled hair within reach.

UK Stylist top Anne Veck won the American Dream International Artist of the Year 2006/07 and has created some lovely wedding styles The images below demonstrate how to achieve one of these great looks.

Her expert hair advice is featured regularly in consumer hair magazines and she has been stylist to some of the world's most beautiful women.

Anne's predictions for bridal styles this season: "1940's styling has been the big story on the catwalk and bridal hairstyles will reflect this. Hair will be more loose, half up, half down, in fat curls or tousled and teased to achieve beautiful bridal styles. For the truly daring, the trend will be for cloud hair - long hair back combed for extra volume, puffs of hair looped into bunny ears, pony tails and buns! This fairy tale fantasy of hair will be over the top and out of this world."

How to create the American dream

Step One
Take a clean straight section in the nape area. Measure the width and cut a Clip weft to match.

Step Two
Gently back-comb the root area and secure the Clip weft into place.

Step Three
From the nape area repeat this process until you are about 5cm (2 inches) from the crown.

Step Four
Depending on the finished look desired you can now add double thickness of the weft (as shown here) or keep to a single weft.

Step Five
Before attaching the wefts were curled with a medium sized tong (ensure that the hair is suitable for use with electrical styling equipment) and a strong hairspray was used to hold the shape.

Step Six
Take a triangular section from the crown to temple, twisting it along the hairline and securing with Kirby grips. Repeat with a second section from temple to just above the ears and again secure.

After
The finished style, lovely cascading curls, to give you that million dollar look ... feel like a princess on a special day.
