Feeling a little blue at the moment? The months in between Christmas and Spring can be a little flat - long, grey days can leave us less that cheery but don't despair, Spring is definitely around the corner. We've all been keeping up with our New Years Resolution here, which includes a ten minute open-air walk three times a week and we've all noticed increased bird activity and spring bulbs poking their heads up tentatively. We even walked in sunshine twice last week - jolly cold though, but just to see the sun is really uplifting.

If you're not, lucky enough to walk in a countryside surrounding, then make sure your walk takes you near to a florist show and take advantage of the reasonably priced bunches on offer at this time of year. Tulips and daffodils are really affordable and what could be more cheering than jugs full of spring flowers dotted around the house. Go for really bright coloured blooms and arrange them less formally - as if you've brought an armful picked at random from your garden, you'll soon be feeling spring-like and counting down the days to better weather.
